Your CPF number is the official tax registration number that is issued to you by the Brazilian government. Anyone purchasing a property in Brazil requires a CPF number. Every year, the Brazilian government asks that all overseas residents complete an online tax declaration before the 30th November. The process takes less than 5 minutes, but is important in order to keep your Brazilian documents regular and avoid problems in the future.

1. If you have a CPF number and have not earned any income in Brazil
2. If you have a CPF number and earned income in Brazil
3. If you have a CPF number and own a property in Brazil
4. If you have a CPF number and do not own a property in Brazil.
